In Texas, almost all commercial and public facilities are required to comply with the Texas Accessibility Standards. When the budget of a construction or renovation project is greater than $50,000, it must be registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to ensure compliance as part of the permitting process. A Registered Accessibility Specialist must then review the construction documents and perform a final inspection when the building is complete.
If you would like ADC to be your accessibility specialist, the simplest way to get started is to register the project with TDLR yourself using the link below. When you are prompted to select a RAS, input license number 1524. We will be notified automatically and will reach out to you with next steps within 2 business days.
All projects must receive a plan review and inspection report, so see our pricing table before registration to determine your total project cost. Also, note that TDLR charges a non-refundable registration fee of $175.
ADC can help you determine the feasibility of a potential construction project or real estate purchase by identifying the scope of modifications that will be required to bring the property into compliance. Following an on site inspection, we will provide a report detailing any violations or areas of concern. Our reports reference all accessibility laws and standards applicable to your project including the ADA Design Guidelines, the Fair Housing Act (FHA), the International Building Code (IBC), as well as any local building codes and requirements.
Pricing for these assessments is determined by the scale and location of the facility. Please contact us for more information.
